Back in 2012 there was a meth lab bust in my mom's apartment building and it was done in the middle of the night while she was asleep. There was a heavy ammonia smell coming from the apartment which tipped off the neighbors along with some other evidence. Also, back on November 13, 2013 a neighbor who lives 5 blocks from me in a duplex had his apartment building raided during a meth lab bust next door to his apartment and now he cannot go home and has to stay with family until he can find a different home and he has to replace everything he owns except the clothes that he wore to work and his vehicle. All his belongings will have to be discarded. At least he has renter's insurance.

It's all well and good for them to make that website and stigmatize them the way they would sex offenders. Only thing is this just forces people to do their meth business on the road whether it's production or distribution. If more people in the meth business do that then I guess there'd be fewer neighbourhood disruptions however it could also make it harder for the cops to find and stop them. Seems like a double edged sword to me.

someone help me, my mom lives in a apartment complex the neighbor above, she thinks is cooking meth. she gets strong smells through the ac vents. but by the time some gets ut there. the smell is light, at 2 am it about kills her. i contacted the law and what a sorry bunch, they came out and done nothing. they couldnt smell at that time, she looks like a crazy woman in there eyes. point being they could care less what now my mom wouldnt lie she know nothing about it, and desribes the smell to the t help help

Absolutely Mamsmad. This site can only contain accurate data for so long, until the neighbor moves and a new unsuspecting family takes their place.
The last thing you should do if you suspect a meth lab is go to a website and make accusations. I agree that you should go to the police anonymously. Now that meth has become a major problem, there is likely a tip hotline in just about every area that you can use without giving your personal details away.

I agree with your opinion that people should use legal means to deal with methlabs in their neighborhoods, rather than make off-the-cuff remarks about their suspicions on the web. Suspicions about a meth lab should always be reported to the police department or DEA. I would recommend that it be done anonymously though as meth lab owners are often armed and dangerous. As they say, "don't mess with a person's children or their money". As far as a meth lab owner is concerned, the choice between a person and money is easy - money wins hands down.
