Some Chick's Blog: Faces of Meth

  • Some Chick · 2 years ago
I know - before you say it: these are old already! I am aware of that :) I just feel like it's important to keep this circulating for those that may not have seen it yet. It's good to have a visual representation of what this drug can do to a person's appearance. Thanks for stopping by!

After they stop for awhile, can they get back their looks?
  • Some Chick · 2 years ago
Everyone is different and some people respond better than others, but truthfully the human body is amazing and the ability to bounce back in my experience has been nothing short of amazing. I had a friend who was so emaciated that she looked anorexic; she went to jail and came out looking like a model. It know it sounds far-fetched, but I was in awe. Unfortunately she went right back to her habits and I haven't seen her in years.

To answer your question, I believe being healthy goes a long way and there are many, many addicts that have gotten clean and you would never know they were addicts just by looking at them.

I met one. She had been clean for 2 years. Lovely looking young lady. She was lucky. Given her looks, I highly doubt that she did it for more than a few months. Tops. I have never tried meth and I never will but thankfuly, she got help before it destroyed her.

I can vouch for what Some Chick said because I knew a young lady who looked very healthy and pretty after 2 years of being clean.

Actually, most meth-addicts can be "noticed" in everyday life. I'm sorry to the other poster, no disrespect, but w/meth. it's VERY detremental to one's appearance, unlike and much more harshly and faster than any other drug out there. I've seen a similar photo-comparison run out here in Phoenix, (meth. is the worst out here, more out West than anywhere, it's truly unbelievable)............96% of all of our crime can be directly related back to meth. in one way or another! Scary. But anyways, the ad they run shows people only 2-6 mos. after use, it's crazy! I mean the chemical "aging" is so heart-breaking. I see people almost daily here when I go out to run errands or whatever. But the other day at the grocery-story was probably the worst case I've ever seen, a white woman, rail thin, the kind of emaciation that only meth. creates, dirty, purple/grayish circles/pick-"spots" or whatever you want to call them ALL over her body and face, I mean everywhere, not one spot was spared! Greasy hair, wild-eyes, that even my 2 yr. old noticed! She was running through the store a mile-a-minute, as we left I saw her talking like a maniac to the elderly door-greeter, she was still talking manically to her while the greeter just nodded after I had unloaded my many bag's, set my kid up in his car-seat, etc. SO SAD. She looked about 70 but was probably only really in her late 30's or so. Depressing as heck. :(

I see people on a daily basis that I would guess are tweekers. I try not to make judgments about people because I never really know, but it can be hard when they display ALL the typical symptoms.
My comment above was in regards to a recovered addict and the fact that there are many in everyday life that folks couldn't pick out as an ex speed freak :)

Hey there, stumbled on your blog when I googled "meth lab images" and WOW, what a find. I live in Southwest Colorado, and am all too familiar with the presence of this drug. I am constantly trying to find resources where people can tell their stories and raise awareness about the life altering, soul destroying, leave you in the gutter to die- drug that is meth.

I saw the Faces of Meth a while back and forwarded it to everyone I knew. The Montana Meth Project has some award winning ad campaigns right now, and the state of New Mexico is running a great Native American Anti-Meth campaign too.

Thanks for having such a fearless blog!

that is like totally bad i will never in my life do that stuff or hang around people that do anything to do with drugs its really bad cause that is a bad sign for 12 year olds like me!
  • Kelly Sue Stone · 4 months ago
Thank you for posting this site. I have never tried the stuff and I never will. I am 43. I am too old for that nonsense anyway. Even if I were 20, I wouldn't try it. I teach drug awareness. These pictures are not pretty. I have shown some pics from other sites to scare the shit out of my kids from ever tying it. I just posted it on Facebook for other parents so they can scare their kids. GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!! Show your kids the result of doing drugs. I'm not all that worried about pot but I don't do any illegal drugs AT ALL. I farted around with drugs when I was in college but didn't like them. My name is Kelly Sue Stone. Find me on Facebook. I am 43 and look 25 because I was never into drugs. That is why I volunteered at 19 to teach drug awareness. By the age of 19 I had tried all that I felt like trying and was done. My hometown is Elkhart, Indiana. It should be easy to find me.

I have to say that this website is so amazing! I am a recovering addict. I have been clean for 2 1/2 years. I literally had to move across the country to begin recovery and rid myself of the meth demons that followed me whenever I tried to quit. I didnt do any type of rehab.. My rehab was surrounding myself with people who really care for me. I lost EVERYTHING!!! Money, Jobs, car, relationship with my son and daughter, my self respect and my soul. Please believe what everyone says..all of the horror stories are true. Meth kills....everything and everyone it touches!
